It’s no secret that we have a fondness for all things Austin, and when our love of Austin coincides with a love of whiskey, well, that puts us in very high spirits!

In Episode 16 of Inside Central Austin we are excited to showcase one of Austin’s local distilleries – Still Austin Whiskey Co. -- the very first distillery located within the city limits since the days of Prohibition.  Appropriate for 2020 don’t you think?

There are several local distilleries in the area, but after using an extremely scientific process we determined that Still Austin is tops.  How?  Well, late last year Marquette gave Paul four different Austin-area whiskeys for his birthday.  We had a great time with our informal taste tests, which we repeated for accuracy, but each time Still Austin came out the winner.

Since we like to share the best of Austin with you, we decided this warranted a trip to see what made Still Austin Whiskey Co. such a stand out.  And yes, we call this work.  (wink)

Josh Madere, the Tours and Education Manager, gave us a behind the scenes look at this sustainably crafted and locally sourced spirit.  It was fun AND extremely informative.

Here’s a quick peak at what makes Still Austin Whiskey Co. unique:

If you are looking for a fun way to experience another side of Austin we highly recommend making the trip to Still Austin Whiskey Co.  Located at 440 East St. Elmo Road, Still Austin is more than just a distillery. It’s a destination.  With a beautiful outdoor courtyard, food truck, and inside bar, this is a great place to spend an afternoon enjoying a quality craft spirit (or two).

And while you’re there, take a tour.  Josh and his team love sharing their knowledge in a fun and relatable way.  If you’d like to schedule a tour, learn where to buy their whiskey or gin, or you just want to learn more, visit Still Austin Whiskey Co. online at www.stillaustin.com

Whew.  All this writing is making us thirsty…  Who’s ready for a drink?
